My beautiful style tribe,
Today's post is the first edition of a series I'm calling 'Colour me..' where I focus on one of the many beautiful colours of the colour wheel and provide you with some easy styling tips and outfit ideas featuring that colour. In this edition of 'colour me', I thought I'd start off with Pantone's colour of the year for 2020..classic blue!
In the words of Pantone's colour experts, classic blue is a 'timeless and enduring blue hue. The colour has the power to infuse a level of subtle elegance to any outfit ensemble. Below, I'll share with you a few styling ideas featuring this beautiful and elegant hue of blue!
Classic blue at the office
Classic blue is a perfect combination of simplicity and sophistication which makes it a great choice for the office environment. When it comes to styling it for an office look, you can wear it on top in either a blazer or blouse and pair it with black or white bottoms. This way the blue becomes the highlight of your outfit and pulls the whole look together. See examples of this below.
Classic blue for your casual days
The simplicity and chicness of classic blue also makes it an amazing colour for those casual day outfits. For these occasions, have a little fun by pairing the blue with one or two of its complementary colours. Three great complementary colours to try out are yellow, orange and green. See some examples of these pairings in the pics below.
Classic blue at night
Stepping out for a night on the town, classic blue works here as well. Pair a blue skater dress with your favourite black pumps for a fun night out with the girls, or go full glam with a classic blue trumpet dress and red stilettos or nude pumps for your next black-tie affair.
So that's it for my post today. As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the post. Have you included classic blue in any parts of your wardrobe? Let me know in your comments below.
Until we meet again, stay stylish my friends :)
