So many fetes..so many outfits..so little time.

Hey style tribe,

For my first post of the year I'm sharing with you some wardrobe pieces that can be useful when putting together your outfits for Carnival.

With the huge number of fetes featured on our Carnival calendar this year, figuring out what to wear to these events can sometimes become a bit stressful. With this in mind I'm hoping that this list can help eliminate some of that stress and help you achieve some stylish and cost-effective looks for the season.

1. Those Denim Shorts.

First on my list are denim shorts. I mean, is Carnival really Carnival without them. Denim shorts have been a mainstay in Carnival outfits for many years and for good reason. They are quite affordable (you can get a pair for as low as TT$75.00) and styling options with them are endless.

If you are looking to grab a pair of these Carnival wardrobe staples, but not sure which style may be the best for you, here is a great article from Pop Sugar Magazine that can help you with that https://www.popsugar.com/fashion/Denim-Shorts-Body-Type-37061240 . Be sure to check it out!

2. The Bodysuit.

Second on my list is the bodysuit. If I am being really honest, I was not an immediate fan of these when they first started appearing in our retail stores several years ago. However, I have come around to them (might be because they are everywhere). My personal preferences aside, I have to admit the bodysuit is another great wardrobe piece to have when putting together your Carnival wardrobe. Offered in a wide variety of styles and designs, there is truly a bodysuit for everyone. A bonus benefit of this closet addition is that they provide a way for you to flaunt your curves and have that tummy control where you need it most.

3. The Romper.

Third on my list is the romper. One of my absolute favourites, the romper is a definite must-have if you are putting together your Carnival wardrobe. What is not to love about rompers (okay I hear you on the bathroom difficulties they pose), however, that aside there a several reasons why including rompers in your carnival wardrobe rotation is a yes, yes, yes! First they are quite cost effective, and retail in stores for an average of TT$175.00-TT$200.00; they are offered in a wide variety of styles and designs (two of which are pictured above); are super comfortable; and lastly they make the task of creating an outfit really easy (all that's left to figure out is your accessories)!

4. Paperbag Pants.

The last feature on my list are paperbag pants. I first talked about this fashion find when I looked at denim trends of 2019. Fast forward just a few months later, paperbag pants are not only trendy, but in my view are also great additions to your carnival wardrobe. One of the main reasons I have included these pants in my list is that I believe they can help you achieve that effortless stylish look when included in any ensemble. They can be easily dressed up or down depending on the type of fete you're attending and for an added bonus they are really comfortable, win-win!

So that's it for my list. I truly believe if you work some if not all of these into your Carnival wardrobe rotation, putting stylish outfits together can become just a bit easier. Let me know what you think of the items I have chosen. Are any of these included in your must-haves for the season? Let me know in the comments below. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Till then, stay stylish my friends.

Alicia.
